Last week four of our children travelled to Essex to take part in an ISA triathlon event. The athletes had to swim 90m, cycle for 600m and run for 800m. We are very pleased to announce that our four competitors, Isabella, Kail, Isabella and Amelie did extremely well and made us very proud. They all came back to school with medals and we are in awe of their determination – well done.
This week began with the first House meeting of the school year. The newly appointed House Captains and Deputies worked so hard on their power-point presentations. They delivered them to their respective Houses with confidence and clarity.
Each House has now voted for their chosen charity.
Lewes – Cancer Research
Arundel – Chestnut Tree House
Herstmonceux – The Rainforest Alliance
Bodiam -Coral Reef Alliance
The House Captains and Deputies are now working on exciting ideas for fundraisers as well as practising the new House chants.
Our first Council meeting was held this week and after enjoying a slice of homemade cake made by one of our councillors, Romey, we got on with the business of deciding what our focus would be this year. All of the councillors are keen to make our school more environmentally friendly. So this year will are applying to be an Eco-school. This will involve everybody and we hope to achieve this award by the end of the year. More details to follow.
The DPA held their Annual General Meeting on Tuesday and wanted to thank parents for attending.
Can we please remind you that all children must come to School in their blazer everyday. They look so smart and we always need the blazers in school for assembly.
If you wish to buy your child a plain navy overcoat for the winter please can you make sure that it fits over their blazer as they will still be expected to wear their blazer to school everyday.
We are very much looking forward to seeing you at the Open house morning 8.30-9.00pm Friday 18th October. We know that the children are very keen and proud to share all their fantastic learning with you.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
