The Reception class had a fabulous trip to watch Cinderella at The Worthing Pavilion on Monday. This was their first ever trip as members of Deepdene. The children were a real credit to the school and loved the pantomime especially the fireworks and the snow which floated down from the ceiling. Oh no they didn’t … oh yes they did!
Our Upper School Festive Concert was a huge success and we are so proud of all the children. The evening began with mulled wine and mince pies which we had whilst having an opportunity to look at the wonderful art work that has been produced this term. Thank you to Mrs Viney for a superb art exhibition which the children were rightly proud of. Next we were treated to a huge selection of songs about hippopotamuses, Santa coming to town and even a poem about a snowball. They all gave everything to their performances and supported each other to remember movement and lines. All the children were suitably surprised at the Deepdene pop up choir and although rather nervous the teachers and parents enjoyed performing too. Could this be the start of a new tradition? Thank you to everyone involved and a special thank you to Mrs Slaymaker.
We want to send a big thank you to all the children in Nursery and Lower school for a wonderful Nativity performance. We are so proud of you all especially those children who took on last minute additional roles! We also want to extend this to Mrs Slaymaker for her hard work and commitment with all the musical elements of the production. What a great choice of songs this year which were accompanied by fabulous signing. We also want to thank Mrs Perrett for organising and prepping all the beautiful costumes. It is a lot of ironing hours! We all feel suitably Christmassy now.
Finally on behalf of all the staff at Deepdene we would like to say how we are looking forward to the DPA Christmas fair this Sunday 8th December 2-4pm, and seeing you all there.
