Dear Parents

We would like to begin our weekly Head’s letter by say a big thank you to all the pupils for being so welcoming and friendly to the new children who joined Deepdene last week. We are very proud of you all.

Mrs Mills met with the House Reps on Monday and would like to share that there are several House fundraisers in the pipeline, starting with Herstmonceux’s Winter Warmer Day on Friday 24th January. Details have been sent via Parentmail.

Year One had a superb visit to the Sea Life centre on Wednesday and enjoyed creating habitats for a variety of different sea creatures in their exciting workshop.

There are exciting plans being made for Deepdene’s World Book Day which will be held on Friday 6th March. We would like everyone to dress as their favourite book character and have our popular fashion show. We will also have an author visiting us and running sessions in the lower and upper school. There will be a chance to purchase signed books. We will also have a book stall here for the morning where the children will be able to buy a book and spend their World Book Day token. Throughout the week there will also be book themed events. We can’t wait for the children to get really excited about books!

Please can we remind you that children need to be wearing their blazer to school every day. Navy blue school coats can be worn on top especially now the weather is colder and wetter.

Have a lovely weekend

Best Wishes

Mrs Gane, Mrs Mills and Ms Hayward
