The final few weeks have proven to be as busy as ever. The Year 6 leavers have come to the end of their Deepdene journey as they prepare for new adventures ahead in their secondary schools. We are sad to see them go but excited to hear of their future successes. We know that they are ready and well prepared.
We enjoyed an emotional and amusing leaver’s assembly and finished off the last day with a welcome visit from a local ice-cream van.
The children in Reception and Year 1 have been lucky enough to consolidate and bring closure to their learning, they are excited to be embarking on the next stage of their educational journey.
The children learning virtually in Years 2, 3, 4 and 5 have shown amazing perseverance and resilience during the summer term. We would like to congratulate them on their amazing hard work. We cannot wait to see them in person again in September.
The Zoom transition meetings on Thursday 9th July were a great success and the teachers loved meeting their new classes.
The team at Deepdene have been looking back on what has been an extraordinary year and will now have the opportunity to pause and reflect. We are incredibly proud of what the children, teachers and support staff have achieved since September 2019. The teachers will be working to prepare for the return of all pupils across the school in September. This is something we are very much looking forward to.
We are looking forward to welcoming eighteen new families across the nursery and school to the Deepdene community in September.
We wish you a healthy, safe and above all happy summer holiday.
With best wishes
Mrs Gane, Mrs Mills and Ms Hayward
