On Monday, Year 3 went back in time to experience the Stone Age. They spent a whole day immersed in activities including carving an arrow head, creating a cave painting and a bone necklace among other things. This has inspired some wonderful writing.
Tuesday was an exciting day when lots of the children helped to make a virtual tour for our school. The children talked proudly about their achievements and what they loved about school. They took the filming in their stride and clearly we have some film stars in our midst.
Senior positions in Years 5 and 6 are announced this week. The Year 6 children wrote letters to us explaining why they wanted the position they had applied for and then they were interviewed, we were very impressed with their responses. They talked about how they would be role models within the school and inspire the school community to get involved. It was wonderful to hear about the plans that they have.
We would like to let you know about our plans to launch our very own our ‘Teach on the Beach’. We are so lucky to live so close to the beach and have it so close to school. Teach on the Beach sessions will be educating the children through a variety of fun and games and activities; raising awareness about their local coastal environment and how they can sustain it for future generations. Through the activities we offer we will also want to develop important life skills such as team work, confidence in an outdoor setting and emotional intelligence. We look forward to being able to share more plans with you as they develop.
Have a lovely weekend.
