Dear Parents

It has been a lovely, busy week filled with pantomimes, magic shows and singing Christmas songs. There was even a special visitor outside school today delivering presents to the Nursey and Lower School. HO, HO, HO! The children looked wonderful in their Christmas jumpers this morning and thank you for the donations for Save the Children.

We end this challenging year feeling gratitude for those loyal members of staff who have supported and steered our school through this difficult time. We are just so grateful to have been able to keep the school open for the whole term and not send any classes home. We want to thank all the amazing teachers for their hard work over the term in making things as normal as possible for the children and trying to make up for some of the things the children can’t do like having birthday parties.

Also, a huge thank you to all the wonderful parents for your support and kind words. We really do appreciate it.

We hope you enjoyed the choir singing on Monday and Tuesday morning. Although very chilly, we know that the children really like to perform. The choir enjoyed a lunch time party on Tuesday and shared some of the treats provided by the Adelaide Care Home as a thank you for their performance last week. The Adelaide loved the singing so much they have asked if the children could perform for them more often so there is already talk of a Spring concert. Well done to the entire choir.

Our Awards ceremony was held on Thursday with lots of children being celebrated for their achievements this term. Certificates were handed out and we felt really proud of every child and what they bring to the school. Well done everybody.

We visited CHOMP this week to deliver all of the many donations you had brought in. Lucia and Tilly our Head of Charities and Deputy helped to load the minibus. We headed into central Brighton. The girls unloaded all of the food and games and talked to a member of the CHOMP team about where the donations would go. It was clear that the girls felt really proud to be part of this and we also want to Miss Kayleigh from the Nursery Team for introducing the charity to us in the first place. Christmas really is all about the giving.

Congratulations to those who won Christmas hampers, chocolates and bottles through the DPA raffle. Thank you to the DPA for organising so much to raise funds. The cards, calendars and tea towels are fantastic and I’m sure that they are making wonderful presents for family members.

Mrs Viney has been working hard on the virtual art exhibition of the Upper school art work. Please look out for that email next week. I am sure it will be beautiful.

We wish you a wonderful Christmas.

Best wishes

Mrs Gane and Ms Hayward
