Dear Parents

What a week!

I have had the pleasure of overhearing some of the online lessons and seeing some of the children that still need to come into school. It is such a pleasure to see each and every one of them and I know that their teachers are already impressed with their commitment to learning. I look forward to seeing even more of them in my History lessons next week.

I know that it is difficult, as we are all now at home, but please can we ask as much as you are able to provide a quiet work space for your child without distractions.

Now that timetables are complete I can turn my attention to looking at what extras we can add to motivate your children. Details to follow. Merits will still be given out and totals for Houses revealed in the recorded assembly on the Deepdene Community page on DB. Postcards can also be earnt and sent home for exceptional work.

Thank you again for the parents who have very kindly helped with the delivery of work packs and for those that have been able to collect their own. The second pack which contains a week’s worth of work, plus exercise books, is being delivered to you over the next few days. At the end of next week a pack containing four weeks of work will be delivered to you and that will take us up to half term. Then, we have everything crossed that we will be back in school after the February half term.

We have sent lots of work in individual folders to help the children to organise different subjects. We will want all of the work to come into school as soon as we open so it is important that the children are organised.

Please do let us know if your child is struggling in any way. We want to support you and your child as much as possible. If they are really not able to attend a lesson then please don’t make them. They can have some time out and be ready for the next lot of learning.

We wish you a restful weekend.

Best wishes
Mrs Gane and Ms Hayward
