Welcome back! We have had a brilliant first week and have really enjoyed hearing about all the lovely things that the children got up to over the Easter break. I have to say that the children have all come back with such a positive attitude to their work and we have already held a Good Work Assembly to celebrate some of the successes they are having in their work. It really is so great to be back.
We have so much to look forward to this term and we are very excited. Every class has trips planned as well as a ‘Teach on the Beach’ session, House Day, Sports Day and end of term treats. Details will follow shortly. Upper School will be going off on their residential trips later in the term and the plans for these look really exciting with everything from canoeing to rock climbing on the timetable. Upper School (Year 4-6) will also get to enjoy a water sports day at the lagoon which is always something that the children really enjoy.
Our Head Girl ran a brilliant Cooking club throughout the Easter holidays and those that attended learnt new skills and ate delicious food. Thank you Isabella.
We have had a very successful Pirate day today and raised lots of money for the Arundel House charity ‘Greenpeace’. The children have really enjoyed getting dressed up. There were sea shanties being sung around the school and the children had fun re-naming themselves with a pirate name.
On Monday we are looking forward to a music demonstration by Tim Wade who is able to teach a multitude of brass instruments to the children. This means that we will be able to offer even more variety to the children in their choice of instruments to study.
