What a joyous sound there was through the school as the children took part in their African Drumming workshops on Monday. It was a real treat to behold. We even all came together in the playground at the end of the day to dance, sing and play the drums. There was a playground full of smiles.
It’s been a week of musical treats as those children that attend music lessons with Lisa Fitzgerald performed in a concert on Thursday. They sang and played their instruments beautifully and made their parents and us incredibly proud. Well done children!
Year 4, 5 and 6 headed to the Lagoon to Thursday for their watersports afternoon. The sun shone and they were able to experience wakeboarding, sailing and stand up paddle boarding. It was a lot of fun.
The children always enjoy dressing up for school so coming into school in their pyjamas on Friday was great fun. This has raised lots of money for the Lewes House charity. We have one last event for Herstmonceux coming up on Monday 12th July. Details to follow.
Transition afternoons happened on Friday afternoon and the children spent a fun hour getting to know their new teacher and their new classrooms. We are organising a ‘meet the new teacher’ hello at drop off in the last week of term. More details to follow.
Year 4 will be heading off to camp on Monday and are very excited to take part in abseiling, canoeing and a night hike amongst other exciting activities.
Year 6 leavers Day will be on Monday and they will enjoy ice-cream followed by an escape room and finished off with lunch at a restaurant kindly provided for by Mr and Mrs Gane. This will be a lovely send off to our leavers.
Please remember that there are some church drop offs and pick-ups next week for those children in our Romeo and Juliet performance. For those of you that are coming to see it we are very much looking forward to showcasing the talent.
Have a lovely weekend
Mrs Gane and Ms Hayward
