Wow, what a show on Friday! The children were simply amazing and we were all so proud. They remembered their lines, songs and dances. They spoke and sang confidently and we could not have asked for more from them. They were all simply superstars.
Herstmonceux House raised an impressive £112.74 on their summer clothes and ice-lolly fundraiser on Monday. This is going towards their previous total of £100.40 and will be sent to the RNLI. We will in fact be sending over £700 across the four House charities. Thank you for your support with all of the fundraising this year.
Eco Club performed an assembly on Tuesday to the whole school to inform them about the issues they were concerned about and what they felt we could do to help. They spoke both confidently and passionately. They had all used their playtimes to prepare what they wanted to present and covered a range of issues. Eco Club will continue in September where we will start to work towards trying to achieve our Green Flag.
While Years 5 and 6 were out enjoying a show at the open air theatre on Wednesday the rest of the school enjoyed an afternoon disco. Ms Rosen got the party started with lots of fun music to listen to as well as getting all the children to join in with the games. Lots of fun was had by everyone.
Awards assembly was held on Thursday morning. This is an opportunity for children to be awarded certificates for their efforts and achievements. We also awarded the House cup, Sports Day cup and Fundraising cups. Arundel won the House Cup this year, taking it from the previous winner, Lewes. They also won both the fundraising cups and the merit cup. Well done Arundel! Herstmonceux won the Sports Day cup.
Year 6 Leavers assembly was a lovely way to spend Thursday afternoon. The Year 6 performed for their parents, we watched a slideshow of photos with lots of lovely memories and we enjoyed delicious tea and cake together. We wish all our Year 6 leavers well for their future adventures and hope they will visit us sometime. That wasn’t the only treat on Thursday afternoon. An ice-cream van visited to treat the whole of nursery and school to a cooling ice-cream.
We wish you a wonderful Summer holiday which will be full of sunshine and look forward to seeing you all feeling refreshed in September.
