Thank you to all that attended the Deepdene Association picnic. It was lovely to see so many of you and see the children playing together. We certainly got the last of the warm weather.
Congratulations to all that gained their senior positions this week. We know that you will give everything to your new position and look forward to supporting you. House meetings and School Council meetings will begin next week. Eco Club will begin meeting the week after. Please encourage your child to attend Eco Club (years 3-6) we have lots of exciting plans.
Year 6 are enjoying a yoga and mindfulness lesson each week at the moment delivered by our new teaching assistant, Mrs Rhodes. Mrs Rhodes is assisting in Upper School now but is a trained yoga and mindfulness teacher.
More ‘Teach on the Beach’ sessions have been happening this week for Years 1 and 2.
Thank you to those that attended our ‘Keeping Children safe online ‘meeting. This is such an important issue and is forever changing, so it is so important that we keep sharing this information.
Fixtures have begun again after not being able to attend them for so long. Year 5 took part in a football fixture on Thursday at Shoreham College with one win and one lose result. Well done to everyone that took part. Some children from Upper School are attending the ISA triathlon today and on Saturday Year 4 will take part in a football tournament also at Shoreham College. This is so exciting for the children and we know they will give all these events their best efforts. We look forward to hearing the results. Our new sports captain, Esme, will be communicating the results to the whole school each week in assembly.
The Calendar competition winners will be announced on Monday so look out for our next school calendar coming soon.
We would like to invite all parents to our Open Morning on Thursday 14th October 8.30-9am. This is an opportunity to see your child’s work and classroom. We are looking forward to seeing you all there.
Please start sending your children in with their fleece and raincoats as the weather has really turned.
Individual School photos are on Monday so please make sure that your child is in full uniform including their blazer.
