Firstly, I wanted to say that it is good to be back and thank you to all those people that took the time to send well wishes to myself and the other teachers that have been ill. It means a lot to us. As I knew they would, our wonderful teachers and TAs pulled together and the classes were well provided for.
A huge thank you to all those that brought in cakes last Friday. The charity reps ran the sale and raised a whopping £118.15 for Children in Need.
We were treated to a wonderful music concert on Wednesday from the children who have individual lessons with Lisa Fitzgerald. They put a fantastic performance on for their parents in the school hall whether it was singing, guitar or piano. Well done all.
Today is the Lewes fundraiser, wear your favourite colour. Thank you to all those children that bought money in for the Lewes charity, the Brain Tumour Charity. We have raised £99.35. Lewes House will hold another fundraiser later in the year.
Next Friday is the Herstmonceux fundraiser, dress as a Christmas character. The children are also running a cake sale so please do send your child to school with a little extra money.
We are so sad to be cancelling our Christmas fair. Some elements of the fair will now run online. Please look out for them.
We do hope for the Deepdene Calendars to be on sale very soon. I know that the children produced some beautiful artwork for this. They would make a lovely gift.
Christmas performances are starting to happen next week. Please read your Parentmails as there are some drop offs at the church. The children are getting really excited to perform for you.
Congratulations again to Milly for making it into the ISA National Schools Swimming Finals held this Sunday – Elizabeth Olympic Park, London.
Our School Council have been busy speaking with the children about what equipment they would like to see in the playground. They gathered suggestions from each class. They then presented the school with new badminton rackets, tennis rackets, a netball and a new picnic table. Well done School Council.
It is starting to feel very Christmassy at school. The tree is going up and the post-box will be appearing very soon. Please do encourage your child to post their Christmas cards, to their friends, in the post-box. They will be distributed daily by a team of elves.
Have a lovely weekend.
