Dear Parents

I would like to start by saying a huge thank you for all your support. Teachers and TAs have really pulled together this week. I want to say a huge thankyou to everyone at school that has taken extra classes this week and last week. What a wonderful team we have.

We are so sad not to be performing for you. We hope that some performances will go ahead next term. We will also be beginning our preparations for the Upper School performance of the Lion King which we are determined to perform next year.

Spelling Bee results are in but I don’t know yet which House has come first! I will announce this as soon as I know.

Although Year 2 cancelled their visit to La Choza, La Choza came to them. They ordered Mexican food into school to try. This is to complement their Geography topic this term. The children loved the food and especially the churros!

Herstmonceux held their fundraiser today. We all looked very Christmassy and had some delicious treats at the bake sale. They raised lots of much needed funds for the Herstmonceux charity, Sussex Dolphin Project.

We are excited to say that the calendars have arrived and look fabulous. They will be on sale every day at school. They are £7 each or two for £12. The DPA will be armed with their card machine. We will also be raffling our Christmas hampers. Raffle tickets are also on sale for this. They are £5 per strip of 5 tickets. There looks like there are some really delicious treats. Good luck!

Deepdene hats and scarves are also on sale – £13 for both.

Although we had to cancel our singing at Adelaide Care Home, we did deliver the Christmas cards that we had made for them. We then received some treats from them for all the children that would have been performing. We really hope that we can go along and sing to them very soon.

All our children will be treated to an online pantomime next week provided by the DPA. Thank you so much. We will all enjoy watching Aladdin and have popcorn to mark the occasion. We also have a magic show next week for the Lower School, a special visitor who will be making a delivery and a Christmas party lunch for Upper School on Thursday.

A reminder that we finish at 12 noon on the last day of term and we will be wearing our Christmas jumpers to raise money for Save the Children.  If you can, please donate £1 to this cause.

Have a lovely weekend.

Best wishes

Mrs Gane and Ms Hayward
