Dear Parents

Well done to Etty and Felicity, Heads of Herstmonceux, who raised a whopping £165.63 for their charity last week. The children looked great in their outfits and the cakes were delicious! We also raised £86 pounds for Save the Children today. Thank you so much for all your support this term with our fundraising. It is such a good feeling being able to come together to help others.

Congratulations also go to Dexter for his high merit for Grade 1 singing and Annabelle W for her high merit for her Grade 4 guitar and Grade 4 piano, Wow! Millie in Year 6 performed brilliantly for Deepdene in the National ISA swimming finals for backstroke. She had battled an illness and came straight back into the swimming final, she came 3rd, an amazing result, well done Millie!
In our last fixture of the term we played Shoreham College in the U10 7 aside football. Both team A and team B won their matches. Cooper was voted player of the match. We have had a lot to celebrate.

I hope you have had the time to see the beautiful Gardening Club Christmas wreath that appeared on the front door of the school last week. It was a fantastic team effort led by Mrs Watkins.
It has been an incredibly busy week with the children in Nursery and Lower School enjoying a magic show on Wednesday. Our Awards Assembly was held class individually for each class on Thursday. This recognises those children that have been working really well this term. Lots of the children were awarded certificates. This will be held again at the end of the school year. Two children, one from Lower School and one from Upper School, were awarded Amazon vouchers as their names were picked from the Golden Tin. Each time a child receives a postcard home from a teacher their name is put into this draw. Spelling Bee results are in with Lewes winning this time. Herstmonceux came second, Arundel third and Bodiam fourth. Upper School also enjoyed a Christmas party lunch on Thursday.

Thank you so much to the DPA for the online pantomime. All the children really enjoyed watching it. The discos were a great hit with our resident DJ Ms Rosen. The children danced and sang and lots of teachers joined in too!

Father Christmas came to visit Nursery and Lower School today. He had sent a video ahead of his visit for the children to watch and then came to school to drop off their presents. There was lots of singing, smiling and excitement.

Well done to all those that won hampers in the raffle. Calendars will continue to be on sale next week, please do pop in to get one or two. A thank you to all that supported our STEM stall by buying the decorations that had been made from recycled materials. Thank you Mrs King for organising this.

We wish you a very Merry and Wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. We look forward to seeing you at the beginning of the new term.  Our first day of term is Thursday 6th January 2022.

Best wishes
Mrs Gane and Ms Hayward
